West Midlands Collaboration Actioning Research in End of life and Supportive care.

About Us

WM CARES (West Midlands Collaborative Actioning Research in End of life and Supportive care) is a trainee led research collaborative, made up of Palliative Medicine Specialist Registrars from across the region.

We aim to conduct and publish research in the palliative care setting within the West Midlands, with the goal of improving patient care and services, regionally and nationally, while increasing trainee participation in research activities.

We are inspired by the success of trainee led collaboratives in other specialities, who have produced high quality research, enabled trainees to develop research skills and experiences, and ultimately improved patient care.  We recognise the importance of evidence-based practice, and we are passionate about promoting this within our relatively ‘young’, but fast-developing specialty of Palliative Medicine.

Our committee meet several times throughout the year to discuss new ideas, ongoing projects and both local and national opportunities, and to connect registrars with research openings. If you have an idea that you would like to share with our group, please do get in touch!
